About The Course

The 3 Phase Motor Control Bootcamp looks at 3 phase squirrel cage motors and the various ways of connecting them. Contactors, relays, overloads, indicator lights, push buttons, circuit protection devices, on delay relays & off delay relays, a DC injection brake and a power supply are all components that will be covered in the 3 Phase Motor Control Bootcamp course. How these components work in conjunction with each other to construct a 3-phase motor control circuit is covered in detail.

In the course the DOL motor starter is the first circuit we will learn. The first step will be to engineer the power circuit, this will be the way we approach each motor control circuit in the course. After the characteristics of the power circuit have been explained we then build up the control circuit step by step, wire by wire, until we have a fully functional DOL motor starter circuit to control a 3 phase induction motor.

We will study 6 more motor control circuits in the course. Off delay, on delay, reverse, mixed voltage, a dc injection braking circuit, and a star/delta motor starter are all covered thoroughly. We discover practical applications for the various circuits and uncover some different ways of designing them. We’ll change up the voltages along the way to keep it fresh and help cover most of the voltages used in lots of different countries.
